Iloilo and Guimaras are the Visayas Western Regions

Region VI western visayas there are Iloilo and Guimaras provinces. I will explain these two provinces because I have made many trips to tourist attractions there.
Every weekend we are invited to travel to historical places and argotourism in Iloilo and Guimaras. There are lots of interesting places there, there is also an international festival that only exists in Iloilo. While in Guimaras there are lots of very delicious fruits.

ILOILO

Iloilo City

The city of Iloilo is a city on the island of Iloilo. The language of the people in everyday life is the language of Illogainon, while the people who live on the island of Iloilo are called Illonggo. The distance of iloilo city is 3 hours from my temporary residence, namely the NIPSC campus in Eastancia. Every weekend we tour in the city. There are many good tourist attractions that are also a favorite of foreign tourists. The tourist attractions we visited at the end of the first week were the Miag-ao Church, GarinFarm Pilgrimage Resort and Damires Hills.

Miag-ao Church

The Miagao Church also known as the Santo Tomas de Villanueva Parish Church is a Roman Catholic church located in Miagao, Iloilo, Philippines. Founded in 1731. The church was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on December 11, 1993 together with San Agustin Church in Manila; Nuestra Señora de la Asuncion Church in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur; and San Agustin Church in Paoay, Ilocos Norte under the collective title Baroque Churches of the Philippines, a collection of four Baroque Spanish-era churches.

GarinFarm is not just an ordinary resort that provides lodging, restaurants and swimming pools. There we can see various kinds of birds, various organic plants, and also there are places of worship for Christians and how the Prophet's journey in his time. Lots of snacks and good ice cream there. the location is uphill because it is in the highlands and has stairs that are more or less 400 steps. Comfortable and clean atmosphere suitable to be used as a weekend destination for families.

Just like GreenFarm, Damires hills is not just an ordinary resort that provides lodging, restaurants and swimming. There are also many swimming pools surrounded by medium-sized gazebos, fortunately the place to relax or hold a small party. There is also a suspension bridge that is about 800 meters long. they also have a lot of organic plants that they care for from seeds to harvest.

The weekend of the second week, we attended the international festival in iloilo city. The Dinagyang festival is an annual festival that only exists in iloilo province. Millions of illegal and foreign people came to the city center to enliven the festival. the highlight of the event is on Sundays. They did a lot of group dance using attractive costumes and accompanied by percussion. We are very fortunate to enliven the annual festival which is only held every January. This festival is very thick with Spanish culture, because philippines is a country supported by Spain since its independence.

Guimaras

On January 26 we went to Guimaras island by boat which took 30 minutes. I really want to go there, because there is a giant windmill. Guimaras is a very clean and comfortable island, with lots of fresh fruits and seafood there.

Guimaras has the smallest plaza in the world, and has been included in the Guinness book of records the smallest plaza category in the world.

No need to go far to the Netherlands to see a giant windmill. Indonesia also has this giant windmill on the island of Sulawesi, but I didn't expect that I could see it directly here, in the Philippines not in my own country. We went here with buddie Ms. Jya, the coordinator and the handsome boy in the afternoon when the weather isn't too hot.

Guimaras Mangoes

Not only has many seafood and has many historical places, guimaras are also rich in fruits, one of which is mango. This island is the best mango producer in the Philippines. These mangoes are the best economic sector for people in this area. almost all people here make it their livelihood. Mangoes here will be marketed throughout the Philippines and exported abroad.

If not for participating in the SEAMEO program I would have known about the Philippines, thanks SEAMEO and NIPSC for giving me a lot of new experiences and knowledge.
